As my name implies, I'm something of a musician. And in reality, music has been the only real way I can get my feelings and thoughts out in a constructive way. Or any way at all, in some cases. So, I thought I'd share some of the more cathartic songs in my library, and hopefully they can help someone on here as much as they've helped me :)

Disclaimer: I'm a child of the 90's, so fair warning there's some things that probably won't be to everyone's taste.

You're Not Sorry - Taylor Swift https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28stJGYZdW4
This being by who it is, it's obviously about the end of a romantic relationship, but I find that most of the lyrics can quite easily fit any kind pathological liar/narc's behaviour.

Because of You - Kelly Clarkson https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTTjLxXFg0k
Whoo boy! This one is an emotional gut punch for me, but in a good way. I usually end up half-singing, half-screaming it because it just encapsulates my pain and rage so perfectly.

A Million Years Ago - Adele https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeUC2CtunMM
The queen of the pain ballad. A song about past regrets and hurt. Very beautiful.

Turning Tables - Adele https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qGcXqo4kcQw
Similar to You're Not Sorry, in that it's a romantic relationship that can apply in other situations.

Crossroads - Don McLean https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ea0mD2QSq1w
A song for when you don't really know how you feel.

Bridge Over Troubled Water - Simon & Garfunkel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jjNgn4r6SOA
Songs like this are classics for a reason.

Not Ready To Make Nice - Dixie Chicks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pojL_35QlSI
Excellent for venting when I'm especially mad at my perpetrators.

Songbird - Bernard Fanning https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raxsAFOxRTE
One of two songs that inspired my screen name - the other being Fleetwood Mac's. I particularly like the line "Songbird, you've got tales to tell. How many times can you describe your living *?"

Hopefully you can find something on here that you connect with. I may add more as they come to me. I'd also love to hear anything that's helped you, I'm always on the lookout for new music :)

I love the idea of you sharing your playlist, Songbirosa! Thank you so much for that. I am a musician as well, it is actually what my degree is in, and it has been how I handled my life as well
