I want to let you know that as a fellow experiencer of a lifetime of abuse, you aren't alone in that either. While I am younger, only 44, my lifetime of abuse stretches back 42 years.
I am sorry those cops treated you so poorly. I honestly believe they all should have some training to recognize when people are having some kind of psychological episode, instead of automatically assuming the person is high or drunk.
