When it comes to trauma, time does NOT heal all wounds. It is deeply embodied in our mind, body & spirit & requires compassionate, knowledgeable treatment & self-care.

If we want more/better trauma informed treatment & services, we must advocate for ourselves when & where we can.

I'm glad to be here, though I feel like a frightened child who doesn't want to come out from behind the sofa!

Also, my emoticons are just showing as black boxes with a white cross inside and I wondered if anyone could let me know how to change this please?

Welcome from me too! I'm glad you're posting inspite of feeling like a frightened child. Brave step!

I'm not very good at computer stuff. The emoticons you are using are all showing up just fine for me, so it might be something to do with some setting on your computer or whatever gadget you're using. If not, we'll have to wait for somebody more knowledgeable to see your query.
