I couldn't sleep last night so was poking around on the Internet and found this article  "A Step Forward in Our Understanding of C-PTSD" .

Hallelujah!  That said, I would add to what the author suggested about treatment:

Successful therapy is based on identifying the specific ways in which the way each individual processes information about potential and actual danger, in order to guide them to healthier thought patterns.

This has all the hallmarks of therapies that focus on changing how/what we think (e.g., Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) which imo (and that of others such as Pete Walker) is only half the story.  The other is relational and has to do with learning through therapy and other relationships on an emotional level that there are safe, caring people out there. 

Anyway, progress has been made in that she identified the core wound in Complex PTSD as ongoing interpersonal traumatization (e.g., abandonment, rejection, criticism, denigration, oppression  ...) of our selves which we cannot escape.  :thumbup:
