Hi,
I have never done anything like this before. I have pretty severe cptsd that developed from 27 years with an NPD after being raised by a narcissist mother.  I have been out of the relationship for four years now but the getting out was worse than the staying in.  I was destroyed.  I'm writing because this has destroyed my physical health more than anything else and no one seems to be able to help.  I have rampant adrenal and thyroid symptoms that are not being controlled by standard medicine.  The out of control thyroid is now affecting my eyes.  Everyone wants to treat this as a mental illness but I need help for the physical problems it has caused.  Any suggestions?

Hi mamazj  :heythere: Welcome on here.

I wanted to try and answer some of your questions but note I am far too exhausted. It happens to moderators too.

Hi Mamzj and a warm welcome to OOTS  :heythere:   I've moved your post here so it will get more responses and members can welcome you to the site.

There is absolutely a clear link between trauma and illness/disease and lots of academic articles for medical professionals to consider.  The most well known research is the Adverse Childhood Events study which was the first major study to demonstrate the link.  Here are a few links:

We have started collecting research articles here.  You could also pass this link along to your physician as well. Nothing makes the point to medical/mental health professionals like empirical data

Hope this helps and again, welcome
