Title: Called in sick to work due to a meltdown
Post by: seshprinny on January 03, 2023, 09:15:02 PM
Feeling guilty and a bit shameful for faking an illness so I don't have to go to work this week. I struggle with hypervigilance and my boss let me know they'd be working alongside me. My worst nightmare. This job is super unpredictable and my workday changes last minute all the time.

Looking for a new role, and will be seeing my therapist on Thursday. But the feeling that I'm doing something wrong is hard to shake. Plus I'm financially a little bit stuck in this role until I find a new one. Worrying about how I'll cope when I'm back in next week.

Hope you guys are all having a nice Tuesday!

My experience is that sometimes it is best to call out sick.  I resonate with the associated feelings that may arise as well as having an unpredictable job.  I hope that you find what will be supportive.

I agree with Rainy. You're listening to yourself, and I see calling in sick as an act of self-care.

I hope it goes well with your therapist on Thursday.
