I don't know how to start this; so I'm just going to jump in. I grew up in foster care. Had to deal with sexual abuse. When I turned eighteen and aged out of the foster system I enlisted in the Marine Corps. That had a wonderful effect on my mental state. I'm in really bad shape. I'm skipping a lot of stuff for right now.
Hi and welcome to OOTS Noob! I'm so sorry for what you had to deal with but this is a safe place to talk about that and any other abuse/neglect you suffered.
Are you still in the Marine Corps? The military can be the family we never had, providing friendship, belonging, and a steady state. My H was regular force for 40 years and I was a reservist for about 15 and I must say we miss it (both retired now).
