Title: Music as healing
Post by: styx_ferryman on April 08, 2025, 03:11:55 PM
Does anyone else use music to heal? I listen to songs that sort of remind me of what I've been through, one of the songs I listen to is called "ship in a bottle" I've felt like talking about what I've been through would cause emotional distress to others so I hardly ever talked about it so I've been alone to deal with it. I also put up a fake front of confidence so it always appears like I'm doing better than I really am. I don't feel like I can be honest about my trauma because who will believe that I'm not doing okay when I look like I am.

Don't give up by Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush.
What about us by Pink. Oh dear.

It's gonna be okay by James Blunt and Robin Schulz.
All a matter of taste of course.

Part of my trauma was having to hide me feelings completely in order to survive. Looking fine on the outside while crumbling inside is something I got very good at I'm afraid.
