Title: AAP issues stronger statement against corporal punishment
Post by: LilyITV on November 05, 2018, 06:34:40 PM
Today, the American Association of Pediatricians strengthened its warnings about corporal punishment and need for a ban of the practice.  https://www.aap.org/en-us/about-the-aap/aap-press-room/Pages/AAP-Says-Spanking-Harms-Children.aspx (https://www.aap.org/en-us/about-the-aap/aap-press-room/Pages/AAP-Says-Spanking-Harms-Children.aspx)  I hope one day this ideal will take root in the larger American society.  It seems we are sooooo far it today.  How many times do we hear the old "I was spanked and turned out OK" line???  Maybe with pediatricians reinforcing it progress can be made.
