Title: Isnt it something
Post by: Boy22 on November 24, 2018, 07:39:53 AM
I dont know how many boards I have been banned from.

The latest because I clearly identified the moderators bias.

The real world cant handle the most simple of truths.

Let alone what we have experienced.

Wow boy I can't imagine you being banned, you've been such an encouragement to lots of us, it is certainly true that people can't handle the truth.

I don't know about other boards but OOTS has very clear guidelines about what is/isn't acceptable.  When  members don't follow them and won't discuss things in a respectful manner with us, banning becomes the only option.

For example, recently a member got very angry when their post was edited because they talked about physically hurting their abuser and used a demeaning name, both of which are not allowed on this board.  Despite explaining the reasons for these guidelines several times to the member they continued to respond in an angry way and took the issue onto the board, another thing we don't allow here.

In the end the member was banned because there was every indication they would remain angry and would cause further problems on the board, for example bringing the issue back onto the board again. It was quite obvious they did not understand/accept the guidelines which are intended to promote respect and consideration for self and others. In the end members need to follow the guidelines or if they find them too restrictive move on to another board.

If we as Moderators have any biases here at OOTS, it is toward rising up and out of our anger and fear in a healthy way. If you have been banned from a number of boards it may fruitful for you to reflect on your behaviour and attitudes.  I can't speak for other boards but I know we want the best and safest community we can provide here at OOTS.
