Title: EOE
Post by: Phoebes on August 21, 2019, 02:04:34 PM
This summer, I finally went in to address my ongoing issue with my chest tightening up and not being able to swallow. Long story short, I have EOE. It's like asthma of the esophagus. It's apparently an autoimmune disorder, and flares up when I'm stressed.

When I was with my EnD and Nsm this summer for a dinner (I drove out of state), I had the worst episode I've ever had. I couldn't breathe, and had to regurgitate all of the food I had eaten. It was a bummer.

I got on some meds, but I don't like the side effects. The doc says if I take nothing, my esophagus will eventually scar and be so tight that I'll have to have a liquid diet only. I've been trying to keep the stress down but that hasn't worked!

Does anyone else have this? Eosinophilic Esophagitis?

Wow, sorry to hear that. It sounds nasty. Maybe you can get some alternative medication so the side effects aren't so bad? Wishing you the best. Take care! :)
