Title: News from Australia's Blue Knot Foundation
Post by: Three Roses on November 09, 2019, 03:53:08 AM
On October 31, 2019, The International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation announced that it has endorsed guidelines for the treatment of trauma, originally published by the Blue Knot Foundation.

"The original guidelines were unique: the first such clinical guidelines published anywhere in the world. In fact, they were endorsed by ISSTD, the first time the organisation had ever endorsed treatment guidelines from another organisation."

(bolding is mine)

Personally I think this is huge! One step closer to having treatment guidelines in other countries that are unique to cptsd without categorizing it under the umbrella of ptsd. I'm excited!

Blue Knot is an amazing org, likely because it was founded by a survivor who is a medical doctor so she's able to talk to professionals and survivors alike and get some great support and resources in place in AU.  We definitely need more people and orgs like this around the world!
