1. It is beautifully sunny and I get to enjoy it

I'm enjoying reading all the things that brings you joy, guys.

@Elpha, sometimes the simple things can be beautiful, aren't they? I've never seem to appreciate weather as many people do so here. Maybe I should try it.
@MelodieRose. It's nice you get to have your scan. After waiting for so long, when you finally get it, it can be a pretty great feeling.
@Jazzy. I've been in fight mode once in my life before, and I relate to the satisfaction in being able to do something about it. That's great to hear.

My 3 good things :

1.  I didn't have much on hand once today, just a water bottle and some books. So I used the books as pins to the water bottle as a bowling ball and a bottle as a character setting.

2. I've created a language with a few words that all include the word "Bloop". I made it to express frustrations without anyone knowing what I was saying, but it just expanded itself to be a lighthearted joke to confuse people with quirky sounding words.

3. I found a university that provides several free ebooks from their curriculum. . . including Systems thinking for a side project of mine. My nerdy heart is overjoyed.

1) I finally got out of bed
2) I'm listening to some music and I did get up and move to it a bit
3) I had some homemade soup left over from yesterday to warm up and finish, meaning I didn't have to cook anything else.

1. I got offered a new job!
2. I had a great meeting with my mentor which has really helped me to get a different (less personal) perspective on getting fired
3. I haven't drunk in 5 days

(4. It's sunny here for a change)

Great job on the offer!!!

1. I got to sleep, after days of not sleeping well.
2. I had a good two hour break
3. I am challenging my ef better than i would have previously

Awesome stuff everyone! Reading your posts encourages me to think more about the positive things that happened to me.

1) I was more assertive with my psychiatrist today, and got some important details straightened out. Among other things, he changed my diagnosis of bipolar disorder to CPTSD, which will go a long way to help me getting some good (the right type of) therapy.
2) I was given a peppermint mocha latte from the coffee shop near the pharmacy for free.
3) I got some much needed rest/deep sleep for the first time in a few days.

1) I finally got up and went out of the house.
2) I met a few people one by one and stopped to chat to all of them
3) The sun was shining

A few more:
4) I finally had my shower and washed my hair
5) I feel better, in fact I'm coming back out of my EF
6) I practised for choir, but I'll allow myself to decide tomorrow whether or not I'll go.
7) My new signature might help me make decisions based on what's good for me and not based on others' expectations.

Thank you for posting here Blueberry! I was staring at this last night, but it was a tough day and I didn't end up posting anything. Good job on breaking the silence! Yay for you!  ;D

1) I relaxed today and do something more fun for a change.
2) I stayed in where it was warm.
3) Chocolate bar!

Thank you all for keeping this post going. When I started it, I was very faithful to posting in here, although now I don't post as much. It helped me see it in my daily life as I move through my day though.

1. I found out my s is having a girl, it will be my first niece. I find that I am truly excited to be an aunt
2. I have been able to enact some self care things when my migraine decided to be a full fledged one.
3. I am more able to control my tendency to over worry more than I used to. It has been notable in the last few days

Need this post today more than ever.

1. I did some excellent self care today

Three Good Things in past few days:
1) 3 days ago I went to a talk about how Christmas is celebrated in some of the countries from which refugees are presently coming.
2) I bothered to leave the house again in the evening to get there, even though it was snowing.
3) I saw a place advertised where I could possibly apply for some part time work.

1. I got too sick and feverish today to go to a Christmas party for the students where I study. I was happy to hear that my friends missed me, at least.
2. I remember making a joke by going up the stairs in slow motion recently. There was one stranger nearby and he was laughing at how slow I was — cheering me on when I go up— and getting surprised when I walked backwards. Heh.
3. I was able to voice my concerns to a therapist — something I have trouble because I believe my ideas aren't worth considering. Score!

Nice DR! That's some good stuff.

Some basic stuff for me today, but it's been rough going lately. It makes the little things much bigger.

1) I've gotten quite a bit of housework done. Yay for productivity, and cleaner environment - 2for1
2) I did a bit of basic grocery shopping. Huzzah for food.
3) I'm feeling a * of a lot better than I was a week ago. Although there's a way to go, I'm so thankful it only got that bad for a week.

1. I enjoyed decorating a candle to give to a friend for Christmas.
2. Drinking lots of hot tea.
3. A friend from out of town phoned unexpectedly today and we had a good long chat.

2. I ate breakfast.
3. I did a sun salutation.

1) My cold is much, much better. That's almost miraculous because it usually takes me about a week to just stop feeling faintly feverish.
2) I went to choir practice, where I didn't sing much because of my throat but it was still worth it.
3) Last night after I was on here I did some colouring in.
Title: Re: Three good things a day2
Post by: Blueberry on December 20, 2017, 09:06:41 PM
1) I'm sitting in a very cold room (can't change that, I'm not at home) so I'm very happy that I've finished Mod work for the day, and can go somewhere warmer!
Title: Re: Three good things a day2

I should have been coming here for days, but haven't been able to. Today I can though

1. I feel more like myself than I have in weeks
2. I finally slept a full seven hours
3. Christmas shopping is done!
4. I am a very excited aunt to be
5. I have folded laundry
6. Self care has been my mission today and I have succeeded
7. I am actually looking forward to two holiday get togethers tonight

That was a lot of them but I felt like writing them all was productive today
Title: Re: Three good things a day2
Post by: Blueberry on December 22, 2017, 06:54:01 PM
1) Yesterday somebody phoned me and left a message that she needs me to do xy by tomorrow and I decided that I'm not doing it. I feel quite good mood-wise, not triggered or anything, and can envisage being able to do more or less everything I need to by Christmas Eve afternoon, including things I need to prepare for the 26th. But that's it. I can quickly collapse because of taking on too much. So "No!" Not doing it.  for me.
Title: Re: Three good things a day2
Post by: Blueberry on December 24, 2017, 01:06:07 AM
1) I had mince (aka ground beef) for dinner. Very good quality, from the farm where I help.
2) I seem to be always welcome to go up to the farm and do some work. Of course, they're happy to have help, but it's not just that, I really am welcome as a person! They now also accept my limitations, without complaint or question. If you actually live there for a number of months or years, more flexibility and especially longer hours are expected. I can't give them that. Lots of seemingly easy work, like cooking a meal for 5 - 15 people, would trigger me so I refuse to do it. They accept that now and are grateful that I wash the dishes afterwards instead.
2a) I also know that if I stop working for them for a while, I can start again. Almost as if I'll always have a place there to help out, with really good quality food in payment.

3) Today I saw them at the farmer's market and two of them reiterated how helpful it was that I was there two days this past week helping with cheese 'care'. "We wouldn't have got through the week without you" As often, a bit self-deprecating, I said they would have, but they would have just gone to bed a bit later. They retorted that on Friday they went to bed at 9:30 pm (late enough for people who have to be up by 5AM, and then work 6 hours at the market) and if they'd had to do the cheese 'care', it would've been midnight! So I now accept their thanks and appreciation.  :)

4) I keep getting up from my seat at the computer to move to music - helps me process! But it's good I'm allowing myself this.
Title: Re: Three good things a day2

1) I finally had a shower and hair wash.
2) last night, well no, this morning when i finally went to bed, I put rose-scented skin cream on my feet, whose skin was in sore need of it.
3) Yesterday I delivered a Christmas card to a friend's letter box and I had a feeling as if I was putting something in a Christmas stocking for somebody. Going up to her door in the dark and slipping it into her letter box.
4) She has an illuminated red Moravian star outside her door - it looked really pretty.

5) I got out of bed this morning and went to church.
6) I got replies to my posts on here from yesterday. I'm (almost) OK with not replying individually, though that would be polite, because I'm still too exhausted. Seeing and reading them did me good.
7) I found my wool socks!! I couldn't figure out where most of them had gone. Better to find them in the middle of the winter than at the end of it  ;)
8 ) Also found a piece of gardening equipment which had been blown away and then covered in snow.

9) I've been posting on here for me, rather than Modding.
10 ) I did quite a few self-care things before even coming on the computer, like having breakfast, drinking tea, taking my meds, doing a little cleaning and tidying as well as laundry.
11) More realisations are coming about exhaustion when I'm working.

Hey, Blueberry, glad you're allowing to type more posts for yourself. Even long ones. You seem like you need more of a break these days, so I'm glad for you.

My 3 good things.

1. Went back to do some programming exercises I've been avoiding in the site codecademy as well as read a really exciting mystery book called "1Q84".

2. I have this habit of getting easily hurt by insults or direct critcism — even if its insults made for others online since it reminds me of some bad memories — so I practiced exposing myself to the dark places of the internet to desensitize myself to it. I've got to the point where I wasn't hurt at all by them.

3. I treated myself out for a cinnamon bun, some coffee, and several new books on different non fiction and fiction genres. Merry Christmas. Bwahahaha.

Thank you. Yes, I do need a break. It's become obvious to me.

1) I'm not going to the retreat but I am getting most of the money back in the form of vouchers.
2) I had an urge to drink a particular type of herbal tea which helps centre you and strengthen your outer boundaries. So I did drink it. It's a bit on the bitter side but I enjoyed it and will have some more later. Yay for listening to inner voice!  :cheer:

3) I made the decision to go to church this morning, it's only a one-minute walk, I also decided not to go to a church 5-minutes away where there is brilliant music always on Boxing Day. No, I went nice and close by. And listened to less strenuous music.
4) I enjoyed the carol singing and sang loudly whether or not I hit the right notes. The congregation is big enough for that not to matter. Again with the congregation being so big, I sang the chorus of one carol in English.

1) I cleaned the stairwell since it was my turn. Instead of using a mop and bucket, I used a cloth and bucket. Takes longer, but for some reason emotionally easier. It actually chased some of the exhaustion away.
2) I did some tidying in my apartment.
3) I listened to music and moved to it.
4) A friend invited me round for lunch and we had a nice chat too.
5) I went to a sung prayer service at church and left some of my emotional burdens there, at least it felt that way.
Title: Re: Three good things a day2
Post by: Blueberry on December 28, 2017, 08:20:41 PM
1) I wanted to go for a little walk and at the same time I didn't want to; I went anyway. It did me good.
2) A friend dropped by unexpectedly.
3) I did a bit of de-cluttering by taking 3 books to the Neighbourhood Book Exchange. (Every little bit helps).
Title: Re: Three good things a day2
Post by: Blueberry on December 29, 2017, 03:19:32 PM
1) I played keyboard and sang. That chased the ruminations away.
2) A friend is away today, I can go over and use her bathtub - and I will shortly. That's enjoyable self-care for me.
3) She was offered a couple of free tickets for an outside Christmassy lights event tomorrow and asked if I wanted to go along, which I do! Even if a bit of effort getting as far as the train station...
Title: Re: Three good things a day2

1) Last night when I couldn't sleep I remembered that I can put all that anger towards FOO in my bank vault and sink it in the lake. I had to do it several times, but then it worked!

2) First post of the New Year in 3 Good Things a Day.
Title: Re: Three good things a day2
Post by: Blueberry on January 06, 2018, 08:58:46 PM
1) I set FOO a boundary.
2) I talked to a couple of friends and told them about it.
3) I noticed after setting the boundary that I had a little more energy and impetus to do a little cleaning and tidying up, which I then did.

Good job here Blueberry!

You've done awesome continuing to post in this thread. It's really encouraging, and I appreciate it a lot.

I've had a rough day today, I wrote a story about it in the other forum. I really don't have anything good to say, except the basics... but honestly, that's a lot to me right now.

1) I'm alive, and not completely insane at the moment.
2) I'm fairly warm, and in less physical pain than I have been the last couple weeks.
3) I have my cats with me. They're also warm, safe, and well fed.

~_^ I've actually had worse days.

Thank you Blueberry. Keep up the good work!  :cheer:

Exactly. Basics are very important. I used to keep a Diary of Daily Joys, I did that for several years. These Diaries are full of the basics as well as 'small' stuff: the sun came out for 5 minutes; my pets are happy; I saw the first first spring flower...

3) My sister contacted me today, which is an uncommon pleasantry.

I am trying to be more true to this thread again, like when I first started it. So here are today's

1. I have a job interview om Tuesday for a small second part time job.
2. I finally get to buy groceries today
3. I am remembering my healing goals

1) Somebody from LETS came by and did some cleaning for me
2) The fact that she was coming helped me do some tidying before hand and while she was cleaning.
3) I finally put the mattress cover back on my bed and changed all my bedding. I'll finally be sleeping in a normally made bed instead of in a sort of rat's nest.
4) Yesterday I recontacted somebody who had been interested in work (mine) but isn't anymore due to changed circumstances. I'm not devastated; not thrown into an EF. I'll get on with contacting a company about some totally different brand of work.  :cheer:

Car wouldn't start, and probably won't try again 'til next Wednesday/Thursday.

But...

1. Heard (phone call) from someone who 'gets me', can relate to aspects of my life better than most, values my expertise in a certain area, and mostly values me for being me.

2.  Was able to contribute some 'vibes' via internet to others.

3.  Found a pair of winter boots I'd needed for about 3 months.

Bonus...the cold symptoms that seemed imminent subsided to where I can function alright again; plus I found my scarf/balaclava wrap to survive the 600 ft. snowy round trip to the mailbox in wind chill blasts of -40F. Plus I got enough food in last week to make it through this icy round.

Three things today  :cheer:

1. It snowed, I adore it
2. My brunch date canceled because of said snow but I am going anyways because I adore brunch and shouldn't have to not get it just because I am single (said date was a friend not a suitor, if we can call them that)
3. I set boundaries with my mildly toxic boss so I am not working extra for him today

Way to go with self-importance (in a really, really positive way  - you alone are enough to go for brunch!) and setting boundaries!  :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

A few good things while OOTS was down:

1) I discovered I could write in my paper diary without even SH (not that I was aware of anyway)
2) Writing in my diary did help me immediately - I was able to go to sleep right after
3) I started rereading my old Joy diaries (which are a lot like our 3 Good Things a day thread here)

4) It was my birthday. I had intended to do a particular activity but ended up staying in bed processing. The time was right for processing and I decided that was most important. Mostly took place in dreams, not even nightmares, felt pain-free. Had a good activity in the afternoon though. Felt that was enough. Day felt whole, complete.  :cheer:

Another few from today or last few days:

1) Today, I finally washed my hair and had a shower. I feel better because of it.
2) Working out some of my holiday plans since i need to get dates sorted for some clients
3) My final client did come today.
4) The other day I put some rose oil in my stone diffuser next to my bed - it smelt really good
5) later when I went for a walk I had a real live memory of the scent in my nose (!) even though none of the oil was anywhere on me

1) I'm consciously making an effort to write this
2) The sun came out this afternoon and it was quite warm
3) Cycling outside town
4) Looking at a present a friend sent me. I haven't even opened it yet because it's so pretty to look at in its wrapped up form with turquoise paper and gold ribbons
5) I took on another very small piece of contract work today

Thanks for keeping this thread alive, Blueberry! It's so important!

1) I woke up in an unusually good mood
2) I participated in group (without running out of the room in EF's, visual flashbacks, or general shame!)
3) I noticed and acknowledged my own progress
4) I let mom's negative side remarks go and avoided engaging in it, and validated her when it was actually needed
5) Ate a big burger without shame or regret
6) Sent a difficult text-message. Which was quite fruitful
7) I created a DBT skill cheat-sheet in my native language. I intend to give it to the group, if they are interessted.

1) OOTS is back up and running properly  :cheer:
2) I bothered myself to go to church this evening and I really enjoyed singing the hymns
3) I washed a big stack of dishes, which always helps me keep on keeping going.
4) I finally showered and washed my hair and am now feeling much cleaner
5) I noticed a big difference to my self-confidence and general good feeling when I was wearing a clean and polished pair of boots this evening as opposed to earlier in the day a pair that is in desperate need of being polished.

1) I spent a couple of hours doing something creative but that is also work-related. It was fun, also a challenge, and interesting. It doesn't matter that it's unlikely I'll ever earn any money off it.
2) I allowed myself to sleep most of the afternoon because I needed that.
3) I had some fruit.

1) I did some work with a client this evening and it did me good

2) Afterwards I bothered myself to go to a group meet I sometimes go to. There is always a simple meal of some sort - tomato/herb soup today. There was some left which they re-heated for me.

3) Simple, healthy, warm food that I'm otherwise having difficulty getting myself to eat atm.

4) I'm promising myself to close down now, put some music on and move a bit. And then see what I have an impulse to do, that is to say which of a number of tasks I need to do.  ;) Even want to, deep down, to get them accomplished and over with.

Today so far:
1) I've started accepting that atm I like working and doing all sorts of stuff in the late evening, which means I end up going to bed at all hours and am tired the next morning. But don't seem able to change. So accept it.

2) A client cancelled, which means I have more time to continue working on my backlog of admin work.

Hi Blue!

1) The thread Trumped out was sad, so I cheered myself up by reading Donald Trump x Kim Jung Un romance fanfiction. Also Donald Trump x Shrek fanfiction. Hahaha.
2) I found a calculator shortcut that inputs an x value without repeating the value over and over. . . I'm a genius. This baby is the latest scientific calculator available here.  :whistling: I bring it everywhere with me.
3) I managed to make some progress with my occupational therapist with my Sensory Processing Disorder. I was deeply motivated by recovery. . . also I have a crush on her, so . . . very motivated.

1) I got out of bed today eventually
2) Before I did I suddenly caught the rose scent off my stone diffuser
3) Yesterday when I delivered some work, I got on my bike instead of the bus. Cycling's a bit more effort but it was good to get outside in the fresh air and take a bit of exercise.
4) I considered going to a store and buying myself a whole bunch of sweet stuff. But I didn't do so. Came straight back home and went into the remains of Sat. eve church service.

Things have been rough, so I will try to post here more often.

3. I finally have a full day off work, without any major triggers!

1) I went to a Games Evening, which was mostly board games. It was fun. Did some games I know and some I didn't. Finally got to try one of my own out that nobody has ever wanted to play with me before ( a bit like Trivial Pursuit).

2) Got talking to one of the other women who quite often goes. She suggested we meet up together some time privately and play games. Seeing as I'm sorting out my feelings in friendships atm, this is good. It's easier to speak up for myself when I'm not frightened somebody'll tell me where to go if I do and then I'll have no friends left.

3) Feeling better able to let things go, especially objects. I'm a bit of a hoarder, so this is good!!

1) Went for a cycle in the lovely sunny weather - enjoyed seeing blue sky, remains of snow, green coming back in the fields...
2) Bought some clothes at a 2nd hand store I like which is closing down including getting a really good deal on a raincoat, which I need!
3) The items I was trying to sell there - I left them there to be given to charity instead of taking them back home, except one thing which still fits
4) Been sorting through other things today to get ready to give to charity. It feels good.

1. I remember during finals recently, I messed with the absentee and tardy list on the board. I wrote hope and your dreams in the absentee list, and your will to go on in tardy. People laughed themselves off at that one. Now my inner critic can't tell me I make too many bad dark overlord jokes. I make bad jokes about other things too!

2. I'm grateful for the basic needs in life. Food, water, shelter, love, and a fast wifi connection.

3. I remember having to write a story in therapy to show how I organize my thoughts. I wrote a story about a tribal village where everyone is half animal in some way, and foreigners have come to promise that to make them all one species for equality as social commentary.  Inspired by that My Little Pony episode where Starlight Glimmer took everyone's talents away so everypony can be equal.

Yes, I have learned much wisdom from magical-talking-princess ponies in my life time.

I was in crisis mode night before last and had to call a help line, a local health/human resources representative, and my therapist. Sounds not so good...true enough, but here's the 3 good things:

None of them uttered anything like the useless line of "just get over it"   :blahblahblah:

The last thing someone having a hard enough time needs to hear is the often used cliches that are more dismissive than helpful for someone needing real help. I'm still recovering from a rough night but at least I feel safer knowing I'd experienced a skilled trio of helpers who truly earned the title of care-givers, all 3 of them.  :applause: :applause: :applause:

For past couple of days:

1) Rousing Easter hymns are replaying themselves in my head
2) I sang with the choir this evening
3) Nobody, especially not our director, asked why I'd missed the last two rehearsals - they just accepted I was back and/or welcomed me with open arms (e.g director)

4) I finally did a load of laundry yesterday and hung it up
5) Did a load of dishes today
6) Points 4 + 5 mean things are flowing again
7) I'm allowing myself to skip reading all posts this evening (mods don't have to read them all anyway, but I sometimes do kind of hypnotically).
8 ) Singing! Singing with the choir minus self-conscious feelings, belting it out whether correct or incorrect.  :D

2) Those edible spring weeds are up and I've started snacking on them.  :)
3) I did some cleaning. I just started with a wet cloth in one little spot and then kept finding new little spots to clean. Lots of dust bunnies in my apartment. Now a lot fewer though  ;)

I had the good fortune to attend a 'healing memories' workshop at a retreat center (ironic in that I live in my private retreat center in the woods). Anyway, the good things:

1) chance to discover an amazingly beautiful place I hadn't visited before, even though not terribly distant from my home.

2) was able to attend via a scholarship.

3) like this site and forum, it was valuable to meet and share with others (10 participants, including facilitators) all of whom have traveled their own hellish paths and are still here to tell  the tale (and release if possible) while desperately clinging to something vaguely resembling hope. As many reading this can appreciate, it's extremely rare to find others who'd understand half of what this journey is like.

1) Finished an artwork for dad's birthday and gave it to him

Haven't posted here in a while, but I do come to read it quite often. I love all of your good things, here are mine

1. I am finally trying grocery delivery. It is a perk of living in a big city, basically like getting pizza delivered but better. I am sick at home so this is a huge act of self care, taking a step to ensure I get to stay home and rest but get food for myself.

2. I find myself accepting that self care is important every day

1) It's lovely weather
2) I'm back from my healing retreat with energy and motivation for getting things done, including laundry and hanging outside.
3) Tried on and sorted out a huge pile of clothing. Most of it will be going to 1 or 2 charity places.
4) Decided not to try and contact new employers today (hard to get hold of Mondays) but wait till Tues. meaning I wouldn't be working till Wed. This means less stress today and more time for letting me see where my energy/motivation lead me. You're recommended to take at least one day off after healing retreat. So I'm doing this.  Won't be MOdding on here either till later today. A break is a break.

1. I got up and went to yoga this morning. Means I get to feel refreshed and energized. I was the only one there which meant some really good one on one time.

2. I didn't panic at that idea, instead embraced it and really enjoyed getting to focus on my practice.

3. I practiced good self kindness when I accidentally hopped on the wrong bus on my way back.

2. A friend was passing by our front door when I was out cleaning this late evening. I had a nice chat with her.

3. Spent quite a bit of time in garden, clearing some beds of weeds, plants I have too many of etc. so I can plant out my squash plants and some other stuff that's still inside on my kitchen window ledge.

I'm writing here today, because I need to remember the good things about today and not only the difficult parts.

1). There was sun and wind outside today - which made the day a little brighter.
2). I got complimented on my art, twice from two unrelating people.

1) I did some good self-care when I got in from work today, e.g. washing all the dust off, getting changed, and putting nice lotion on my dry skin like hands and arms and face (after all the dust).

2) I had 2 long cycles to and from work. This time I went a different route and it was a bit faster than last time. Lovely sunny weather and green, green , green as far as the eye can see, with some wild flowers mixed in too.  :)

3) I started singing to CDs again (probably slightly delayed success from healing retreat).

4) I did some more gardening today, including planting some of the stuff from my kitchen.

1) I got going making some new advertising for my business window, on the spur of the moment, feeling motivated  :cheer:

Two good things to look forward to today:

1) I can go over to a friend's and use her bath since she's away for a couple of days

2) Another friend invited me over for afternoon tea and to play board games

I did both those things later, as I'd planned. And they were good.  :)

1) I felt a bit bad physically this morning and had the impulse to do a tiny bit of yoga, which I then did. I hadn't done yoga for months.

2) It was sunny again today (not raining like yesterday) and I was happy because I had about 18 km to cycle.

3) Enjoying seeing all the green grass, leaves etc and the colourful flowers while cycling

2) went out of the apartment and worked on a new art project
3) bought a summer dress 2 sizes down than I actually am ( I suspect it's a bit big in size - but I'm not complaining)
4) I had a hilarious and bizarre DnD session

3) Not forcing self to think of third thing.
