I am in awe every time this still pops up! I think I started to original one a year ago and thought it would be rather useless. Thank you all for finding this board useful

1) I have a job interview today
2) I have plans to self care afterwards
3) I am really enjoying having a roommate

1) Tomorrow I'm going to make an appointment with a support-lady to talk over my situation and get some much-needed support.

2) I'm learning that 10-20 minutes of work on looking after my home is better than going into a flight-fueled panic clean.

3) I'm now going to go to bed! :) At a much healthier time.

2) I'm learning that 10-20 minutes of work on looking after my home is better than going into a flight-fueled panic clean.

:yeahthat: Good one! I so agree.  :sunny:

Mine:
1) While still lying in bed (on the floor due to spring-cleaning mattress), I allowed my body to move to its impulses which were basically (a) low-grade yoga exercises for making hip joints more flexible, and (b) something with my back which felt as if the bones were re-arranging themselves a bit (lol) without being painful. Considering my 'allergy' to exercise for exercise sake, this is really good

2) Got up and took my meds
3) Cleaned up some mess I left in the downstairs hall last night and then cleaned front steps etc while I was about it
4) continuing my spring-cleaning
... and it's not even 7:30 AM yet!

2) I'm remembering to congratulate myself on clearing some things out and not harangue myself for not doing more, faster.
3) I listened and moved around to music today while washing the dishes
4) Have some new ideas on how to set up my apartment once I move my office back into it.

1) Made it to the farm today in a bit less than an hour

3) I spent some time reading about the importance of exercise and I'm going to do some now.

A while ago I removed a catalogue in front of a neighbour's door so as to protect them from potentially being broken into and left a note in their letter box to explain.

1) Today the neighbour rang my bell and presented me with a sunflower as a thank-you. Now whenever I look at my sunflower I start smiling.  :sunny:

1) I have 2 Little Furries in my apartment to pet sit for 2 weeks. I notice already the softening affect they have on me. I speak gently and affectionately to them and that seems to have an affect on me too, on the thoughts wandering through my head. :)

2) I got the accommodation set up for the Little Furries before they came, did some long overdue cleaning, even some tidying and throwing out of papers.

3) The owners of the Little Furries were nice people who seemed to trust me with their pets too rather than looking askance at my less than perfect apartment. How I interact with the Furries is more important to them.

4) I wandered around a department store an hour or so ago looking at toys and children's books and especially activity books. It was giving some of my ICs some attention they needed. I didn't buy anything, wasn't my intention, just looking and getting tiny glimmers of memories of working in those kinds of books at school as a 6-7 year old. I liked working in those books but FOO didn't approve so I didn't mention it, kept it hidden. So now it's good to admit it.  :)

5) I'm going to go completely off-line now until tomorrow day-time. No sitting about on the computer at 4 AM. Nope. Reading a book is OK, sleeping utterly desirable, but no Internet. This is self-care!

1) After days of not doing so, I suddenly got the impetus this evening to go into the garden and continue where I left off: removing builder's earth from around the spaces where I moved my plants to and adding a bag of compost soil I bought specially.

2) Last night I slept in my proper and properly made bed again. Felt much better. :)

3) An additional bud has opened up on my sunflower, so there's an additional much smaller bloom on the side.

1. I dared to socialize and visited some people I know just as they were enjoying their before work morning coffee routine, to which I'm invited but rarely take them up on it; you know, hate to bother, etc. So I felt the fear and did it anyway, was able to add interest to their morning.

2. I made it to the grocery for first time in a long while (another out there task I avoid if at all possible but getting down to end of current supplies). I also have ongoing crippling arthritis in one leg but they have a nice motorized scooter and Sunday eve is low traffic so it worked out and I even got enough for a feast. So that's 2 !!! treks out to the world in one day; almost unheard of for me.

3. I did my usual, apologized for even being there, for being in the clerks' way, for lots of the usual 'I don't matter' reasons but they were having none of it, and were glad to help.

I know this sounds so trite yet it's so cool when days like today come together like that. "Sounds so trite"??? Thanks, inner critic; and you may now shut up; thank you (be nice to your inner critic or it gets mad and looks for other things to irritate you with).

3 1/2...things were so nice that I almost forgot almost hitting a deer that popped in front of my vehicle on the trek home. And now the owl is hooting, loons are chortling as they settle into the twilight, and there will likely be coyote howls during their nocturnal rounds. All is well.

1) I am feeling emotionally raw today, after last night's session. It isn't taking over my day though, and am I being kind to myself by accepting the feelings as they are without judging them.

2) I get to go to Aerial hatha tonight <3 yoga is one of my favorite things in the world and this will be my second day in a row

3) Work is going well, I am managing a lot and there are plans to start training me for my promotion this week. I finally have faith that I will do it well.

1) I made some tangible healing progress today
2) I've just been at a friend's (who's on holiday) having a nice, long soak and scrub in her bath, preceded by hair-wash. I feel much cleaner and better now.
3) I put some 'stuff' in my hair after washing it, which is meant to fortify it a bit, make it less dry or something like that. I often have a lot of trouble with that kind of self-care so it's  :applause: to self when I do overcome whatever's in the way.
4) Enjoyed looking after all the Furries today - all 5 of them  :)

1.  The wild fire evacuation alert has finally been lifted after five long weeks!
2.  I can see the mountains around our house as the smoke is starting to thin.
3.  It's much cooler (has been 30-40 degrees for weeks) and there's a hint of my beloved autumn in the air.

Wow!   When you compare that with the sort of conversations / topics that when on at my FOO's dinner table... Doing it for a year is a pretty long time too! Quite long enough for it to make an impression on your kids and for it to be anchored in some part of their brain as a Helpful Life Tool.

happy for you about the 3 good things in your life yesterday too!

I feel like I need to come here more often to keep track of the good. I started this thread and was faithful to it for a long time, but it has become something I don't physically put down as often. I do note it in my day to day, but I think it is important to write it as a good reminder to myself.

1. I enjoyed lovely coffee and a bagel this morning because I got up in time to do my morning routine well.
2. My work with the cptsd foundation is going well. It is still in the creation phase but is coming up quickly. It is scary but the people I am working with are reassuring that they do truly believe I am the person they want heading up this project. That I have the skills and heart for it. Having that reassurance has been a blessing this week. I couldn't be happier to be working on something I truly have passion for.
3. I get to go to hatha yoga tonight. It has been a busy week so I have not made it into the studio as much as I would like so I have carved out time today to make sure I go and have that time to nurture myself

2) I was able to take a nice long walk in the woods because i was not at work.

3) I came home to my own apartment and I had food for dinner.

1. Went to a party and talked to people
2. I finished a job that was creating anxiety and I did it well instead of finishing as quickly as possible
3. Dh was quite supportive at the social function and was fine with my decision to leave (2 hrs early) when it got to much ( he used to get annoyed with me)
A male friend was touching me not in any inappropriate way but dh was nowhere near me but was apparently aware and watching and later asked if I was ok with that, as it usually triggers me, I was surprised at his attentiveness

1) I finally packed up and took a bunch of stuff to the post office and sent it off. Mostly private stuff but also one business. Some of the private stuff had been waiting around weeks or longer.

2) I treated myself by allowing myself to do a little volunteer work out on the streets for about 20 minutes. Seriously. With volunteer work, I tell myself I should be dealing with my whole backlog of other stuff first. I dealt with some backlog so allowed myself the other.

3) I'm continuing to practise not being responsible for other people  :)

1. I don't remember the last time I was so happy to be home - due to being tired and emotionally drained, I was so stoked to be alone. I felt giddy sitting down with tea and netflix.
2. Autumn never ceases to amaze me. Bright red and yellow today, and when it's dark and they're falling in the light of streetlamps, it almost feels like it's snowing.
3. I've been walking a lot and my brain is doing a lot better because of it. I feel like the old is being cleared out, making room for the new.

It's only 8 days since I wrote 3 Good Things on here but feels like I've been stuck feeling down for weeks. That is useful to note.

Anyway:
1) I went into the garden and did a little clear up. So I was outside in fresh air, moving a bit, using my hands and seeing colours
2) I went to a concert of church music this evening. I sat all hunched up but I did manage to sort of enjoy it. Especially the singing helped re-awaken little flickers of life in me
3) I've started dealing with 3 clients for whom I have bad news

1. Watched ninja turtles while cuddled with my son

2. I found some great Christmas presents for people

3. I baked apple spice cookies  ;D the house smells amazing

A belated thanks, Blueberry! And well done to you too. :cheer: (what a perfect smiley for this thread!) Working in a garden is so therapeutic.
And you too, Deep Blue! Nothing better than a house that smells like baked goods(especially anything with apple).
I wasn't planning on doing another three, but you know what, I love reading & writing these, so here we go.

1. This past week I've noticed way more people smiling - I thought maybe suddenly my city was filled with different people, but I think the more likely truth is that I've changed. I'm more open to seeing happiness around me. It's weird, and so wonderful.
2. I'm making really good progress towards running a 10K. Running is uncomplicated, compared to other things in my life. There's a clear goal, and when I push myself to reach it, I can do it. I can't even describe how thankful I am for that simplicity. I often have little faith in myself, unfortunately, and it feels like I'm collecting bits of proof that I am bloody capable and powerful.
3. I've booked a spa day for myself this week... It's the ultimate self care for me, and it's much needed. The anticipation is almost as good as the day itself, ha. I can't wait.

1) I really enjoyed the ex-pat Christmas Party I went to this afternoon!
2) First time that I've made requests for specific carols - 3 in fact, ones that don't usually get sung. I really like singing English-language carols in a group  :)
3) Everybody bar one person sang today, which isn't always the case.
4) After helping clean up there, I felt invigorated to do some clean-up at home  :)

It's the next day for me already  ;D

1) While on the forum I've been listening to Christmas music and getting up to move around to it too
2) I know from the way I was moving and how I kept listening to certain songs 7-8 times in a row (!) that it was to re-ground myself
3)  to self for taking the need seriously

1) My therapy session was really useful yesterday in helping me clear up various odds and ends that I can now get on with in practical ways
2) My T suggested that when I go off to bed for half a day or remain there all day that it's not laziness or even hiding, it's a place where I feel safe and where I can regroup and gather up energy again to continue. Wow.
3) A friend has lent me her old bike for the time-being. Lights are working, winter tires on already and pumped up, brakes, a few gears. In short I have WHEELS again :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: Yay for friends.

1) Somebody told me today of someone she knows whose bicycle was stolen in town last year and then the bike was being ridden around town, so she got it back! This gives me some hope. Apparently it is conceivably possible that my bike could turn up. It won't necessarily be sold in another area of the country. It's worth keeping looking. Other people tell me differently and I believed that.

2) I got Xmas post from a FOO mbr today and after some rumination I managed to waylay any kind of EF. I guess that means I managed to keep ICr quiet.

3) I'm about to say it's OK not to go to choir practice, it's OK to not do things 'just because' people expect me to do so. 'Have to' is not good for me, and it's better to not do so.

We're up to 5 pages so time to lock this and start a new thread. I love that we do need a Part 5 (and then 6 and 7 ....)
