It's a bit on the technical side but it seems like one consideration is what kind of laser used. See
https://www.psychiatryadvisor.com/home/topics/general-psychiatry/infrared-laser-treatment-of-tbi-ptsd-and-depression-an-expert-perspective/. (Note: List of references at the end of this article for anyone who wants to wade in deeper.)

The one used in your treatment is the more effective type from the sounds of it  - "The LZ30 series of lasers do not use inexpensive laser diodes, SLDs or LEDs. Cheaper LEDs do not offer the same level of power control that you get from using high-end InGaAlP diodes." https://www.coldlasers.org/avant/
Thanks Kizzie...I'm now also doing https://www.davincimedicalusa.com/aspen-theralight-pod for PTSD...

That is incredible. How are you feeling now? Has the hypervigilance crept back in or is it still gone?

I can't see the attachment, I'm not sure if it worked or if I am missing something.
.
It is incredible...I go back every week for another treatment..just had one this morning...he also does my Achilles tendons...(tendinitis) it's my chiropractor...

So...about a month ago my hypervigilance was spinning out of control...the "hamster wheel" in my gut was spinning like it was turbo charged. I was almost hyperventilating 24 hours a day. I couldn't get it to stop with any somatic work. My doctor has been using lasers on my Achilles tendons for tendinitis...and it seems to help.  So, I come into his office with my hypervigilance spinning out of control, and he says he's got a new laser treatment to try on me. He used it on my Vagus Nerve at the base of my breast bone for 3 minutes, and then at the base of my skull for 3 minutes. Then, as I was driving home, through farm roads all by myself in a quiet car, I noticed that the hamster wheel had stopped. The single most miraculous medical treatment I've ever experienced in my 58 years on this planet. Here's pictures of the unit. It has a PTSD setting.  It should not be that hard to find a laser therapist where you are...I'm pretty remote. (I drive over an hour to see my therapist) I'm now trying to find the underlying reason for the hypervigilance...

RA-Survivor This sounds a lot like my childhood...but instead of sexual...my was physical...my oldest memory in life is at 5 years old asking if I would ever get whipped across then face... what was going on before that that I asked that...??? I have very, very few memories (good or bad) of my childhood...the few I could bring up have been desensitized with EMDR...now I'm dealing with implicit (emotional) memories...EMDR can't do anything for those...I'm looking into Attachment Focused EMDR for those...we'll see...

So, about 6 weeks ago, my hypervigilance was spinning out of control...I could feel the "hamster wheel" in my gut spinning with no end in sight, almost to the point of hyperventilating. I knew what was happening, but could not stop it. I went to my chiropractor that day (he knows of my cPTSD) he's been doing laser work on my Achilles tendons ...and he said he had a new laser and it has a PTSD setting. He used it on my Vagus nerve at the base of my breast bone, and the base of my skull  3 minutes each. I wasn't expecting anything...and driving home through farm roads, all by myself in a quiet car, about 20 minutes later the hamster wheel stopped. I've never experienced a medical procedure like that in my 58 years on this planet. There are many places that do laser light therapy. If this is you, I'd say, look into it...what do you have to lose...???
