I've been watching the posts on this site for some time and figured I would give it a try. Expressing myself and putting myself out there is definately a foreign concept for me. However, I surprise myself sometimes and figured I would share something I wrote today:
Walk with me through my PTSD,
There are some things you need to see.
Take my hand and don't be afraid,
I take this walk 100 times a day.
Walk with me through my PTSD,
It's a bit of a maze, as you will see.
Take my hand, I won't let you stray,
Have no fear, I know the way.
Walk with me through my PTSD,
It's a bit noisy, it won't let me be.
Take my hand and don't listen too close,
There's a quiet place that I chose.
Walk with me through my PTSD,
But close your eyes I can't let you see,
the largest of all that killing me.
So take my hand, I'm in the lead,
off to the place where we can be free.
Walk with me through my PTSD,
The demon's are nasty, of that I agree.
Take my hand, I'll guard you from their tricks,
The place we go is safe; I built the walls with bricks.
Walk with me through my PTSD,
The path is long its the way it must be.
Take my hand for the journey takes its toll,
Come to my place where sanity still holds.
Walk with me through my PTSD,
Come to the place I hide the real me.
No, you say? Well that's OK,
You wouldn't have survived it anyway.
