I've traveled on many buses, trains, and planes in my life and finally started carrying on a washable jacket that I put between me and the person in the next seat. If it's someone who seems decent and I don't want to offend I say I'm putting it there for an arm rest. If a creepy person,  I just roll it up and put it between us and say nothing. I always have something to read also.

I'm new here and found this interesting thread. Only recently have I gotten over my guilt for feeling angry, and letting it out on occasion. I've never cussed but have done that some, as it seems to help with the expression. Only with safe people. I was not allowed to have negative feelings as a child then later in marriage, so no wonder. Anger is valid. We are allowed.

Someone close to me has this issue and we've discussed it. She thinks it might be bc she wants to do the task perfect or not at all.

I'm prepared here for tough subjects to come up so haven't felt triggered so far in reading posts. It's the stuff that is unexpected that triggers, a tv show that flashes on, and lately anyone in customer service who is mean, even to someone else in line. I think that might be the fear of not being heard.

When I'm feeling overly critical of myself I tell myself just do something. It can be small. There is no one but myself to judge what I do or not most of the time on my time off work, but it helps me keep the shame away.

Welcome greg. In my experience I'm jittery and hypervigilant when in therapy. It is painful and grieving for those truths to come out, but a relief also.
