Germany / Inpatient therapy
June 04, 2019, 06:01:12 AM
There seems to be more inpatient therapy available in Germany than in some other countries, at least judging by the posts on here. Here is a website with 3 different lists of trauma clinic types.

Germany / Therapy types
June 04, 2019, 05:51:23 AM
Here is a list of therapy types currently in use in Germany for healing trauma (ptsd and cptsd), or at least in conjunction with other types.  https://www.therapie.de/psyche/info/index/therapie/traumatherapie/psychotherapie-bei-traumatisierungen/ Includes a description of each type.

Note that on these types of websites they tend to talk about trauma-healing without specifying whether for ptsd or cptsd. If you're looking for a therapist, you need to stipulate cptsd. If they are qualified for cptsd, they will know the difference.

Germany / Lists of therapists
June 04, 2019, 05:42:40 AM
You can find trauma therapists on the following lists: 1) http://www.dgptw.de/beratungsstelle/traumatherapeutinnen.html

2) www.emdria.de

3) a little list of German therapists with qualifications from the Swiss Institute for Psychotraumatology http://www.psychotraumatologie-sipt.ch/therapeuten/deutschland/
4) and a longer list of Swiss therapists, some of whom are close enough to be of interest to those who live in southern Germany: http://www.psychotraumatologie-sipt.ch/therapeuten/ostschweiz/

5) https://www.therapie.de/psychotherapie/-verfahren-/traumatherapie/

Note that not all trauma therapists are on these lists and not all therapists on the lists are a good fit for everyone.

Some of the books mentioned elsewhere on the forum are available in the original English or in German translation via inter-library loan in Germany.

Germany / Books

Aside from the books mentioned elsewhere on the forum, there are some Germany-specific books e.g. those by Luise Reddemann that have not been translated into English.

1) Trauma heilen by Prof. Dr. Luise Reddemann and Dr. Cornelia Dehner-Rau, ISBN 978-3-8304-6171-5.
Approachable, easy to understand and start doing. Covers ptsd and cptsd, as well as therapy types available in Germany.

2) Eine Reise von 1000 Meilen beginnt mit dem ersten Schritt by Prof. Dr. Luise Reddemann.

3) Imagination als heilsame Kraft by Prof. Dr. Luise Reddemann.
As far as I remember, a bit theoretical. There's also a CD with the same title comprising imagination exercises, which is very practical.
