It is a bit difficult...my relationship with food is weird. But I want to do a biblical fast. And hope it helps me heal.

I have an unhealthy diet. An food is my pain killer. I'm not overweight. But still. Now and then I start a strict diet. Then relapse.

I want to try eat healthy first (sugarfree, gluten-free, processed food free). Then fast a longer period.

It's a major struggle. I fail again and again. I get happy and clearheaded. Then depressed and anxious...or hungry...and cheat.

I now want to slowly ease into it.

Would anybody want to hold me accountable? My first goal is now to eat three healthy whole food meals. And allow one cheat a day. For a week.

Hopefully this will be encouraging. After I was diagnosed with PTSD in 2015 I started a ketogenic diet to help my diabetes.

Not only did it help my glucose, but a surprising side effect was it helped with my depression as well.

Don't gwt me wrong I still have bouts of depression, but they don't seem to be as intense or long-term like previously.

Periodically I do a 72 hour fast which is beneficial. I started out doing 16 and 8 at first. Then 24 hour fasts. After I was able to do that then I tried 72 hour fasts.

It helped me to build up to it. I haven't tried anything over 72 hrs because I'm a type one diabetic.

Thanks. That sounds great. I had given up for now. I am in too difficult a time...fasting really takes away my go to comfort thing...I cannot get through.

I decided to build up indeed...just small fast..16 hours...little goals. That i succeed at.
