Dr Who and the Cybermen

I thought that  "Subject header" would grab your attention. 
I grew up with Dr Who...I am a Brit, and still watch it.
Latest Episode: S 10, Ep 11, the Cybermen (evil robots) are made from humans, and the process leaves them in constant pain.

The BadGuy shows them a device that he implants in the Cybermen and says,
"this wont stop the pain, but you will no longer care about the pain"
And this just about sums up my experience of Childhood Trauma.

It worked Slim lol  ("Well now, I just have to read this post!").  I certainly understand the sentiment.  If we are here though it's likely we do care about the pain on some level, if even in a small oh so human part of us that needs and wants to recover.
