In reading  noticed that the same CPTSD was used for Chronic PTSD and Complex PTSD, seems a little confusing. They are not the same thing , are they?

I've always seen complex PTSD written C-PTSD. Chronic PTSD implies that the body is under stress for a very long period of time, so it can lead to C-PTSD.

Hi Trace - sorry I just read your post now.  Chronic and complex PTSD are two different things, it's just that some people use the same acronym.  Chronic PTSD refers to ongoing PTSD symptoms which relate to short term or single incidents of trauma, while complex PTSD or complex trauma as some people call it refers to symptoms relating to long term abuse/trauma.

Hope this helps!
