Quote from: Armee on September 26, 2024, 04:54:29 PMThen the kicker was you get to the end and they say give us your email address so a member of the research team can contact you. So I do thinking wow maybe I made it past the screen. And then the very next automated screen is saying I'm ineligible. Pardon my French but $%#! don't ask for my email if I've been screened out. That's rude.

I received an email from the assistant yesterday, they're still recruiting and may not be able to include all applicants  :blahblahblah:  :blahblahblah:  :blahblahblah:
I wrote back looking for clarification on whether they've changed the criteria and I might get a spot after all. I seriously doubt that could be the case, but I'd like to know in advance in order to be ready. If, as I suspect, the criteria have not been changed, then that's rude and unnecessary to send us emails. We'll see, I suppose.

BB and Armee, what you should have received if you didn't meet the criteria was the email below, not the one you did receive. Like anything there are often little glitches in studies and it appears this was one of them. I did pass along what you both said so they know what happened and can adjust their process. They are very open to hearing how they can improve things and I trust their integrity having worked with them for a few months on various projects/studies now.

You can see from this email why they wanted your email which was to say thank you for applying and explain again about why the eligibility requirements were on the strict side for this study.

Thank you for taking the time to complete our screener and for having expressed interest in our study. Unfortunately you did not pass our eligibility quiz for this study. We acknowledge the eligibility criteria are quite strict, and this is no way a commentary on you or where you are at on your recovery journey. Simply that, as mentioned on the eligibility quiz, our criteria are strict for safety reasons, given that this is a pilot study and the research team will be at a distance. Note we are unable to give specific feedback around the eligibility criteria.

As this is our very first time running this study, we hope we will gain vital feedback from the participants to enhance the intervention, and also to find out whether it could be offered in a wider way to a more diverse group of CPTSD survivors in the future.

Thank you again for your time, and wishing you all the best,

Colette

Figure me confused. I'd better read this another time.

I actually no longer remember what the first notification said about criteria not being met.

BB you said you received one after being told you were not eligible that talked about still recruiting, etc., which is what they send when participants are eligible:

I received an email from the assistant yesterday, they're still recruiting and may not be able to include all applicants  :blahblahblah:  :blahblahblah:  :blahblahblah:   I wrote back looking for clarification on whether they've changed the criteria and I might get a spot after all. If, as I suspect, the criteria have not been changed, then that's rude and unnecessary to send us emails. We'll see, I suppose.

What I meant above is that you should have received the email thanking you for applying but that you are not eligible etc.

In any event it's all water under the bridge now.  Thank you for applying to their study and I'm sorry things got confusing.

Thanks Kizzie. Don't worry your writing is/was clear, I think. My brain is mushy today.
