I went ahead and decided to register on this site today and want to take a moment to reach out and say hello.  Looked for a 'newbie' thread to no avail before starting a new one.   I see a lot of sage advice, and a lot of honesty here.  There is no doubt in my mind that I belong here.  Hopefully I can help others as well as some of these posts have already helped me!   I'll spare everyone the gory details for now :-)

Hello!

 :heythere: Hi, JayDubs,

Good to hear that OOTS has already proven helpful for you. This forum functions well as a refuge, even though many of us are frustrated so often while trying to live with what still hurts and scares us. It's not easy so finding support here is a key part of trying to heal, come to terms with our injured selves and look for hope that we can make it through to better days.

There's a lot of mutual support here that can be hard to come by. So feel free to react to anything or share your story, knowing you'll be listened to. And allowed to be you. Welcome!

Thanks woodsgnome!  Always feels good to be welcomed.  I hope I can add benefit for others as well.   Knowing you are not the only one is a fantastic feeling!   I'm not the most effusive about my history and something tells me I am far from the only one on here like that.   ;D The first thing I told a therapist once was that I don't think she'll believe me..I even thought she wouldn't believe that statement.   Yep, there are some quarks.

Welcome! Here, I feel a sense of community I've never experienced anywhere else. I hope you have the same experience. Thanks for joining!

Hello Jaydubs! I'm also new here so it's nice to meet another newbie.!

It's so good to feel there are other people out there who empathise with what we're going through, even if we haven't told our story. It's can be very lonely in the big wide world, so it's important to connect with people who you can be yourself with.

I'm always available to offload to or simply have a chat, should you ever want to.

Love and hugs

Welcome J

some great people in here, real people. We help each other a lot, each story is different, but much of the actual effects are similar and that is a huge lift, knowing that there are specific symptoms and reactions we can all relate to. They can be beaten, and we will beat them together. Share if and when you feel the need, we will listen and understand.

Hi jdubs
I've just joined too and I'm not up to talking about my past either. Its enough for me to see messages from people who I think would totally understand if I did talk about stuff.
I lost a lot of people I thought were good friends back in the day by talking about dark stuff, I don't do that any more but it is isolating, which is why I like this forum/site I guess.
