Which forum do I use?

I'm bewildered at the myriad of forums & sub-forums on this site!

Which one do I use for general CPTSD support & questions?

I am also annoyed at the very difficult & cumbersome verification steps to post. This is a classic example of poor web site design. Bots/spam can be avoided with a simpler verification protocol.

Most of us post on this: http://outofthefog.net/C-PTSD/forum/index.php?board=10.0 first. Brief intro - you do not have to tell us your whole story, just what you feel comfortable with.

Then you can post on Development of CPTSD in Childhoood or As Adult, depending on when yours started! The Childhood section always existed, the Adult section came later because there are apparently issues in the Childhood section that people who were first traumatised as adults don't have. Then decide are your questions more: Symptoms, Causes or Treatment/Recovery.

Even if you post in the wrong spot, chances are someone will answer sometime. Possibly a Moderator will move your post to somewhere more appropriate.

Some questions you have may be covered in Research. So you could check that too.

If you actually become an active member here, maybe you can even help with a simpler verification protocol? This site and the sister site Out of the Fog are volunteer-run. If there's nobody around who can do it better, then there's nobody around who can do it better. On here we're all dealing daily with the fall-out of C-PTSD, which doesn't make life or work particularly easy.

Edit: Sorry this maybe was a bit harsh-sounding without even a "Welcome". So, welcome!  :heythere:

Not sure what you mean by "I am also annoyed at the very difficult & cumbersome verification steps to post.". I've personally never had any issues with anything like that. >.> I just post and that's it, no verification needed.

Welcome to the forum though, Sam. ^^ As Blueberry said, there's the Childhood and Adult section and you simply choose for yourself which one suits you best for whatever topic you have in mind. :)

Thank you Blueberry for your helpful reply.

It may help to roam around and explore the site some.  There is no wrong answer as to where to post.

Welcome and I hope you do post an introduction so we can learn more about you.

The verification to post will disappear when your account is a little older. I think it's 24 hours but I'm not sure.

This site is cumbersome, so many little nooks and crannies! Please feel free to post anywhere it seems most logical to you.

Welcome and thanks for joining - I look forward to hearing more from you.

I am puzzled by the areas available for those with adult onset cptsd.

Many of the areas other than the actual adult section have 'child boards' in front of them.

Having cptsd from employment and being stuck in a protracted legal battle with them is very rough, but not likely to resonate with anyone else.

And yet I connect with so much of what people post, whatever their history or circumstances.

Dee

Child boards does not mean anything about childhood.  It just means subsections.  Unfortunate wording here.

Often there isn't an exact place to post.  Post where you like, it's okay.

Aha!
That makes sense now Dee, thank you very much.
