I'd also say go slowly, try and feel what you need/want or don't need/want. I read that you don't want to hurt him. My advice is to not want to hurt yourself either, which you might if you went too fast or couldn't feel what you want/need.

It's a long time ago now but I did the opposite of all of that. Nothing bad happened 'objectively'-speaking, but no relationship developed either. I don't date now. I just block the whole area out of my life. I don't know what to do either. I'm not saying that's healthy!!

Nothing weird about going slowly in a relationship. It sounds like wisdom to me.
