I don't think there's a big risk. But im still frightened my kid or family will find it.

I wondered how this works though, with the private journals? Maybe I'm a bit dumb. But do I just post in the same journal, but can only those logged in see it? Or is there a different place?

The private journals are in a separate place from the regular journals. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you should see them.  Only those who have been given access to the private journal section can read there.
