Warm Blanket

I feel like being loved, or the act of loving itself, feels like someone wrapping a warm blanket around you when it's cold outside and you're freezing.
I need that warm blanket. The only way for me to get away from my father and heal, is to become financially independent.  Can you suggest something that would help?
Sometimes I think why is it so difficult for him to love anyone but himself? That is such an unfulfilling way to live. I could never do that. How can he? How?

As you say, you need to get away - and one of the steps towards that is becoming financially independent. Do you have any work currently? If you do not, you can perhaps visit a recruitment agency? They do a really good job of finding you work and pairing you with something that you would enjoy. You don't have to get anything extravagant either, with a little bit of money you can still perhaps explore the option of living with a housemate/flatmate? That's how I got out of my family's house - searched online for those needing a flatmate/housemate to help pay the rent. Of course, it would be preferable to have your own place, but I think in most cases it is still better than living with your abuser.
