not sure if this is a setback or a positive event

something happened, may take a paragraph to explain

I got a cat last spring, out of extreme loneliness and desperation; it was like one of those binges where you have to have that cake nownownownownow and not even a freight train can stop you.  I work from home, trying to get fitness training clients and so far making something like 80 dollars a month, that's how lame it is.  So getting a cat isn't really the greatest idea.  My thought at the time was, I can't do this, letting people into my home. I have to get an outside job and keep my home private. But then I had trouble leaving the house and decided that was even worse than having people over.

two weeks ago I got this great client who really likes me and has money.  So it would have been 40/week easy.  Turns out as much as she loves me she's allergic.  So on one hand it's great that this was in a way a success but on the other hand I apparently ruined it in advance because I can't make good decisions.

Like the song goes "If something goes wrong, I'm the first to admit it. I'm the first to admit it, and the last one to know. When something goes right, well it's likely to lose me. It's bound to confuse me. it's such an unusual sight".

That's such a shame but it has proven that things can go well. You weren't to know your client would have an allergy and having pets is a common thing so I can see how it would be overlooked. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but not always realistic. Blatantly you are good at what you do so hopefully you will get more clients who are not allergic.

I remembered I have access to a local workout studio that I can rent.  So I offered it and she was excited and willing to pay extra (to cover my hourly fee to use the space). She also recommended her mother.  So I guess it turned out ok.  Since then before a client I put the cat in the bedroom and vacuum and put out an air filter.

Awesome.
You bet it turned out OK!
You are skillful at your job, otherwise she would not go through such length (and expense) to 'obtain' your services.

I'm so glad it worked out for you  ;D.

How do you feel about using the local workout studio? Do you feel okay about it?

Good on you for turning the situation around. See, you do make good decisions.

The studio is a win. I charge more to offset the cost but I'm still competitive and it's near the grocery store so I don't feel too afraid of going. I tell myself I'm going to get groceries and just stop there on the way.

I posted something about a client who had neck pain and it was this same person so another roller coaster of emotions this week.  I have had a trainer myself back when I was married and had cash haha and I know the way injuries happen. and I know I didn't blame him when I got hurt because it was accidental and likely hard to avoid if not impossible.  But still it bothers me.
