SITES I HAVE FOUND INTERESTING...
« on: September 21, 2014, 07:50:55 PM »
So I always keep the browser open when I find site of interest to me and I have so many open now that I want to share. Some of them I have not looked at extensively and others I find helpful

Facebook pages of interest. On these I like the pics..

Dealing is healing one day at a time.

Reflections of My PSTD life..

This is a blog that has many of the topics we discuss. It is colorful and has won awards for the site presentation. The writer does put trigger alerts on his blogs that are bad. His story is very sad, and worse than I can imagine.

This is another blog that has lots of the things to use for help to get well.

This is a advertisement free site that is connected to the Harvard medical school. I have not looked at this much but seems to have many pages on PTSD involving families.

This is the site for National Alliance for Mental Health.( NAMI)They have research projects, lots of information, but most of all they have an extensive network of free group meetings! yeah! I actually found one in MY area! Lots of information... they do not have cptsd but do have PTSD. I have noticed that sometimes CPTSDis not recognized...

So happy reading! Hopefully You enjoy the information as much as I do!

I have been playing around with this site for a week now. It has many work sheets, related to anything mental illness presents. If You would like a work sheet for anything I think IT is probably here! All of them are free except the Microsoft version that costs.

Get free help handouts

There are also MANY links at the bottom that I have not explored yet!

Badmemories - do you have a better link for that worksheet site? It doesn't seem to be working.

Here's another site I found very useful and followed all the suggestions to the letter. http://mindfulconstruct.com/2010/07/09/end-a-codependent-relationship-the-healthy-way/
That site is Golden.
Especially this part is a gem:
Quote
Why connecting to your anger is key

Codependency comes from a lack of boundaries.
[…]
Anger, on the other hand, is nature’s signal that a boundary has been encroached upon, or violated.

When you listen to your anger, form a bond with it, and work with it constructively — you naturally pay more attention to your boundaries or lack of them. And you set and maintain healthy boundaries to protect yourself.

And guess what? That kind of behavior is the complete opposite of codependency
I'll be reading this a few times more, but I have the feeling I did a lot what this article suggests in breaking my codependent relationships.
I still feel (at times) bad and/or confused (=FOG) about breaking up with my abusers, and I think I need to break (or at the very least alter/change) a few other codependent relationships.

This article sums up pretty well the pro's and con's, and how to navigate both "flip-sides of the coin".
