Mine came from a familial story that I have always questioned. Part of my family has fond childhood memories living in Bermuda as children, and playing with locals and learning their language. In short what I have uncovered as an adult is a bit more dark, but when I think of Bermuda, I think of a state of mind. The happy place with grass huts, and people collecting water on their roofs, and children unaware of the truth playing freely with each other. Bermuda to me is a carefree state of mind amid a troubling world and in a sense the original stories I heard growing up.
