Another lurker saying hi

Hello all. I now realize (as a grandmother!) that I have had CPTSD my whole life. Anxiety, depression, fears and phobias, sexual issues, all because my "normal, happy childhood" was a lie and a fantasy. Memories and flashbacks show me I was actually surrounded by mentally ill adults and terrified children and pets, subjected to sexual, emotional and occasional physical abuse - all wrapped up in financial comfort, extravagant holidays and vacations (so how dare we complain?!) and tied with a bow. I just finished with my 2nd therapist - felt I'd gone as far as I could with her, and working with an Adult Children support group.

I hope to both receive and offer support here; this seems a lovely place which I am grateful to have found.
